What Does It Mean to Heal Your Money Story?
(June 2025)
We hear a lot about building wealth, but we don’t normally discuss what blocks us – healing our money wounds and rewriting our money story. What does it really mean to heal your money story? Is it about getting out of debt? Making more money? Getting smarter with your budget?
Let’s go deeper.
Healing your money story means confronting the narratives, shame, and patterns you’ve carried—most of which were handed to you, not chosen by you. It’s realizing your current financial reality isn’t just about income, it’s about identity, beliefs, and behavior.
Here’s what healing and rewriting your money story starts with:
My response is mine.
I may have inherited cycles of lack, but I don’t have to pass them down. I can name the things [lies] that do not serve me. I can rewrite the script. I choose to believe that freedom is possible for me—and for those coming after me.
Today matters.
Every dollar I spend, save, or invest is a chance to vote for the future I want. Financial healing doesn’t start in the bank account—it starts in daily choices rooted in self-worth and wisdom.
Keeping hope.
My past financial mistakes don’t disqualify me, they educate me. I choose to hope in my ability to grow, learn, and steward what I have with confidence.
Doing good things.
As I heal, I give from wholeness. I sow generously, teach intentionally, and model what financial integrity looks like. My breakthrough can be their blueprint.
Attitude is up to me.
I choose not to avoid money and not to judge those who have it, I face it. I talk about it, track it, and tell a better story through it. I am not broken—I am whole and know every decision matters.
Let’s switch the buzzword.
Instead of “money mindset,” let’s talk about money maturity. Because healed people build healthy wealth.
